What Information We Collect

We only collect information that we actually need. Here's what we collect and why:

1. Information You Give Us

When you create an account:

  • Email address: So we can log you in and send important messages.
  • Password: Encrypted - we can't see it, only you know it.
  • Your name: So we can greet you and personalize the service.
  • Your date of birth: To confirm you're old enough to use the service and show age-appropriate content.

When you use the service:

  • The subjects you're studying: To show you relevant content.
  • Your quiz scores and progress: To track how you're doing.
  • Topics you've completed: To show your progress.
  • Your preferences: Like difficulty level or exam board.

When you subscribe to a paid plan (if applicable):

  • Billing information: Processed by Stripe. We do NOT store your card details ourselves.

When you contact us:

  • Any information in your messages. We keep this to help answer your questions.

2. Information We Collect Automatically

When you visit our website:

  • How you use the site (which pages you visit, how long you spend)
  • Your device type (computer, phone, tablet)
  • Your browser (Chrome, Safari, etc.)
  • Your approximate location (city/region - not your exact address)
  • Your IP address (a unique number assigned to your internet connection)

We use "cookies" to collect some of this information. See our Cookie Policy below.

QR Code Scans:

If you scan a Revision Desk QR code (for example, in one of our printed books), we log aggregate, non-identifying analytics about the scan — the country, device type, and time — to understand how the code is being used. During that visit we also count whether the page loaded, whether a main button was pressed and whether a purchase was made, so we can see which codes are useful. These are anonymous totals for each code, and we don't set a cookie or store anything on your device for this. If you buy during that visit, the name of the code is saved with your payment record so the sale can be counted. We do not store your IP address or the exact device/browser you used.

3. Information We DON'T Collect

We don't collect:

  • Your home address
  • Your phone number
  • Your school name
  • Special category data (race, religion, health information)

Data minimization: We only collect what we need. If we don't need it, we don't ask for it.
