Why We Built This
We're Andy & Nic, a husband and wife team with over 45 years of combined teaching experience. We've guided hundreds of students through their GCSEs and we've watched, year after year, as bright, hard-working young people spend countless hours on revision habits that simply don't work (despite our best advice).
Highlighting. Re-reading. Making beautiful notes.
It all feels productive but the research tells a different story...

It became even more personal when we watched our own daughter fall into exactly the same trap. She was putting the hours in. She cared deeply. But she was revising in a way that created a fluency illusion.
"That familiar feeling of 'I know this' that only appears when the textbook is open and vanishes the moment the exam paper lands on the desk."
We knew what the evidence said. Decades of cognitive science research is unambiguous. The single most effective revision strategy for GCSE students is past papers. Not because they're a shortcut, but because they help in these three areas more effectively than anything else:
Procedural Knowledge
Building the 'how to answer' examiners are actually looking for.
Anxiety Inoculation
Making the exam pressure feel familiar rather than paralysing.
Accurate Calibration
Providing an honest picture of exactly where the gaps actually are.
The problem was never that students didn't want to use past papers. It was that repeatedly getting to them as part of their revision routine could be unnecessarily difficult. Scattered across exam board portals, awkward to navigate and impossible to organise.
So we built Revision Desk. One place for every past paper, every mark scheme, every exam board. Organised, bookmarkable, and paired with AI tools that turn a mark scheme into a revision resource in seconds, which can be revisited whenever needed.
We hope you get the results you're after.
